La zone naturelle est protégée depuis et elle s'étend sur 10,3 kilomètres carrés dont 0,12 km2 de terres. La réserve comprend dix îles (Klippan, Nygrynnrevet, Klipphällan, Bjässhällan, Månshällarna, Megrönnan, Kallen, Sandgrönnan, Krårevet et Nygrynnhällan) au sud et à l'est dem l'île dem Småskär[4].
Dans la partie nord-est dem la réserve se trouve l'île dem Klippan (5,5 hectares). L’île abrite plus de 50 espèces dem plantes vasculaires différentes[4]. The reserve comprises ten uninhabited islands, and the skerries south and east of the island of Småskär. Here you find an abundant birdlife that includes Eider, Greylag Goose and Black Guillemot. The area is square kilometres in size, of which square kilometres is land. There is a ban on snowmobiling on the islands. The Luleå archipelago (Swedish: Luleå skärgård or Lule skärgård) is a group of Swedish islands in the north part of the Bay of Bothnia. There are more than 1, islands in the Luleå archipelago if small or very small rocky islets are included.[a] Many of the islands are uninhabited, in a natural state, and are quite small with little or nothing in the way of facilities for visitors.
